At Studio Tashkeel, we donβt just design restaurants β we design experiences. So when we were tasked with bringing the vibrant energy of Mumbaiβs street food scene to Manchesterβs Trafford Centre, we were more than ready.
π The Vision: Mumbai Meets Manchester
The clientβs goal was clear:
βMake diners feel like theyβve stepped onto the streets of Mumbai.β
Not an easy ask β but exactly the kind of creative challenge we love.
We werenβt just designing a place to eat. We wanted every moment β from first glance to final bite β to feel like part of the story.
β¨ The Experience Begins at First Sight
We started with the facade, designing a front that doesnβt just welcome customers β it pulls them in. Think bold colors, layered textures, and that unmistakable feeling of βWhatβs happening in there?β
Inside, we layered the space with a rich mix of materials, lighting, and finishes, chosen to evoke the spirit, sound, and soul of Indiaβs busiest food lanes.
π Design That Serves the Food
Of course, design isnβt just about how things look β itβs about how they work.
Behind the scenes, we focused heavily on operational flow, ensuring the kitchen layout, customer movement, and service areas all work in sync. The goal?
π Serve authentic Indian street food fast β without compromising on quality.
π‘ More Than a Restaurant
Chit N Chaat isnβt just another food spot. Itβs a living, breathing space β one where architecture and food storytelling collide.
We see it as a testament to how thoughtful design can elevate a simple idea into a multi-sensory dining experience. Every surface, every beam, every light fixture contributes to the same goal:
Bring India to Manchester β and make it unforgettable.
